Frequently Asked Questions
"Why do you need to evaluate in person first?"
Since every dog is unique, what needs to be done in order to reach a goal can vary in time and effort. Not only that, but a simple act of defiance for one dog may be just the tip of the iceberg for another. Also, beginners may need more time in order to not miss any key components in the training lessons. For more information on what an evaluation looks like, visit our temperament test page here.
"Why don't you train aggressive dogs?"
Due to liability and lack of physical capacity, it is unsafe for our trainer and subsequently the dogs involved to offer aggression services at this time. However, we are happy to help recommend trainers who we believe may be a good fit for the job.
"How do I get my dog to be a service dog?"
For more information on service dogs and their training, please visit our page here.
"Why only psychiatric and mobility service dogs?"
Due to liability and not being able to guarantee the absolute success of the dog since these dogs are not from a program, it is unfair to offer services to those with impairments such as diabetes, epilepsy, etc. with such uncertainty.
"Why no off-leash programs?"
Due to leash laws and being located in a city, it is irresponsible to offer off-leash services to pets in our community as it is illegal and we cannot trust every person to follow up 100% on training. Unless living circumstances are on a large gated property or the dog is a service animal, off-leash training will not be provided. However, emergency recall is offered in our obedience lessons in the event of a dog slipping out of a door, car, or collar/harness.
